Updated: 'Lolong' Biggest Crocodile on Record, Dead

Captured in Bunawan Creek in September 3, 2011, after almost 2 years, the crocodile died, February 10, 2013 after three weeks of ailing since swallowing a nylon cord which triggered chronic diarrhea. The reptile’s stomach started swelling that leads to death, this was according to Rowena Elorde, special spokesperson for the Bunawan local government.

Lolong is a tourist attraction in Bunawan Ecopark and Wildlife Reservation Center in Agusan del Sur as a record-holder of the largest crocodile ever measured from snout-to-tail as he measures 20 feet and 3 inches (6.17m).

Body temperature of Lolong is being monitored regularly by its caretaker.
