Dinagat Islands Festival 2013: "BUGKOSAN SA ISLA"

This is the third time that Dinagat Islands in northeastern part of Mindanao, the 80th province in the Philippines celebrates its vast cultural resources through the "BUGKOSAN SA ISLA" Festival 2013.

"Bugkosan" originated from the word "pagbugkos" means to bind, "paghiusa" to unite, "paghugpong" to merge, "pagbug-os" to incorporate and "pagtibu" to convene. It depicts unity and cooperation among all Dinagatnons and promotes the province tourism potentialities.

5 Contingents from different schools in the province participated in this year's festival.

Contingent No. 1 Tribu Sibanag from Tag-abaca National High School, Tag-abaca, Basilisa Dinagat Islands

Contingent No. 2 Tribu Dinagatnon from Don Jose Ecleo Memorial Foundation College of Science and Technology, Justiniana Edera, San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

Contingent No. 3 Tribu Kamanglaan from Don Ruben E. Ecleo, Sr. Memorial National High School, Don Ruben, San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

Contingent No. 4. Tribu Hiyas Kabataan from Jade B. Ecleo - Aurelio Integrated High School, Aurelio, San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

Contingent No. 5 Tribu Pulang Lupa from Cuarinta National High School, Cuarinta, San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

As early as 6:00 in the morning today, December 2, 2013  all contingents, National Line Agencies, Provincial Officials and Employees including Private Organizations and Non-Government Organizations assembled for the parade and street dancing competition.
