Fun Philippines: Traditional Rice Dryer 'Amakan'

"Amakan" in 'Kinaray-a' (in Antique) is made of finely weave bamboo. Weavers usually make 4 by 8 feet in length depending on the desired measurement. 

'Amakan' is used as a traditional rice drier and other farm products by small farmers in the Philippines especially in rural areas or in mountainous part of the country.

Upon harvest they are drying rice into this traditional 
rice drying material by spreading the fresh harvest rice using the 'ukay' made of usually rubber with a handle as shown in a picture below.
